Methodology

Data Collection:

VietnamSalary, with the methodological support of the reputable market research company Amco Vietnam, is an information portal providing reliable salary references based on the latest comprehensive results from job postings by reputable recruiters in the market, as published on CareerViet.

The current version of the database is compiled and analyzed based on over 650,000 job positions posted on CareerViet.vn. It is continuously updated and processed monthly to reflect detailed and timely information on the online recruitment market.

In this report, we do not use current salary or salary expectations from candidates, as it is difficult to verify and may impact the accuracy of the sample.

Data Processing and Standardization Method:

To ensure the reliability of the provided information, we exclude the following cases:

Additionally, we exclude salary information from companies that do not allow the disclosure of this information. Afterward, we statistically analyze salaries based on valid job positions from CareerViet within the specified publication period.

Our analysis system does not self-adjust data, correct for inflation, or adjust for cost of living. This approach helps users avoid the pitfalls of traditional salary reports (using methods like "average" or "survey investigation"). After data verification and standardization, we only provide analysis based on 135,000 job positions with standardized and highly reliable data.

Furthermore, our research team regularly compares our reports with external data sources, both public and private, to provide users with better salary information.

Salary search results include the following information:

Minimum/Highest Salary: the lowest/highest salary in the market that employers pay for each position or job title.

Average Salary: the common salary in the market that employers typically pay for each position or job title.

Low/Mid/High Average Salary: In addition to the ''Average Salary'' mentioned above, we also provide common salary ranges that many employers are willing to pay for each position or job title.

We always disclose the number of statistical samples to help users assess the accuracy and representativeness of the information.

We use the average experience requirement in each job posting to calculate the average salary by years of experience. In cases where the employer does not specify a minimum or maximum experience requirement, we use the highest experience requirement in the job posting as the average experience to calculate the average salary.

We rely on gender requirements in each job posting to calculate the proportion of the specified requirements over the total corresponding positions.

We note that indicating gender requirements is typically done by employers when jobs have specific characteristics unique to the business, industry, and specific requirements of each job position. We always encourage employers to create equal employment opportunities for all genders.

Desire:

Information on salary references from CareerViet''s salary report can help candidates and employees have more information to prepare for salary negotiations, evaluate a job offer, or plan for career advancement.

After entering information about the position/title, location, and desired salary for the survey, anyone can receive accurate and free salary report information to compare with the salary that employers are willing to pay for these positions. Individuals can also explore changes in salaries when compared to another city and the potential income of higher-level positions in the future.

Furthermore, we aim to help employers quickly grasp the real salary situation, thereby formulating a more competitive salary strategy to attract and retain talent.

Salary reports depend heavily on job title, specific job descriptions, industry, location, work experience, business type, and many other factors. However, in the current version, we have only stopped disclosing general information about job titles and locations: Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, and Nationwide. Knowing that this basic information may not immediately meet the demand for a specialized platform providing salary information for the market, we warmly welcome user feedback and will quickly release improved versions as soon as possible.
