Duties:
* Determines environmental issues by developing and completing air, water, and waste analytical tests; analyzing and synthesizing data derived from measurements; characterizing site conditions; determining nature of waste; assessing risk to human health and environment; determining sources of pollution; maintaining control charts; conducting remedial investigations and feasibility studies.
* Resolves environmental issues by conducting treatability studies; researching, analyzing, selecting, and applying environmental engineering concepts, approaches, techniques, and criteria; adapting and modifying risk control alternatives; communicating expert information; coordinating actions; reviewing open issues and action items.
* Complies with federal, state, and local environmental regulations by preparing compliance plans and permits; presenting information at agency hearings and public forums; studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to regulation and testing requirements; forwarding regulatory information to production areas; advising management on needed actions; building and maintaining rapport with regulatory compliance and inspection personnel.
