Description of Kỹ Sư Môi Trường
Job Purpose:
Plans for, controls, and eliminates pollutants by identifying and controlling environmental risks; researching and developing air, water, and waste environmental techniques and approaches; preparing environmental reports.
Duties:
* Determines environmental issues by developing and completing air, water, and waste analytical tests; analyzing and synthesizing data derived from measurements; characterizing site conditions; determining nature of waste; assessing risk to human health and environment; determining sources of pollution; maintaining control charts; conducting remedial investigations and feasibility studies.
* Resolves environmental issues by conducting treatability studies; researching, analyzing, selecting, and applying environmental engineering concepts, approaches, techniques, and criteria; adapting and modifying risk control alternatives; communicating expert information; coordinating actions; reviewing open issues and action items.
* Complies with federal, state, and local environmental regulations by preparing compliance plans and permits; presenting information at agency hearings and public forums; studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to regulation and testing requirements; forwarding regulatory information to production areas; advising management on needed actions; building and maintaining rapport with regulatory compliance and inspection personnel.
* Develops controls and guidelines by determining and establishing environmental control and testing specifications; describing testing methods and procedures; recommending control policies; contributing advice to facility planning and design.
* Maintains and improves environmental results by building models and simulations; developing and completing environmental tests, inspections, and audits tests; following and enforcing standards; studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; developing remedial measures; implementing changes.
* Trains staff by providing environmental compliance information.
* Ensures operation of analytical equipment by calibrating equipment; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
* Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
* Prepares environmental reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends; entering data and generating reports and presentations.
* Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging environmental engineering technologies and practices; participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
* Enhances engineering and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
